Ingredients (for 12 pieces):
Ingredients for the cake:
- 2 large organic oranges (approx. 350 g each)
- 250 g of ground almonds
- 5 eggs
- 250 g of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
Ingredients for decorating:
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
- 1 organic orange

- Wash oranges, put them unpeeled in a saucepan with water, cover and simmer for about 45 minutes. Roast almonds in a non-fat coated pan. Let cool down.

Drain the oranges and allow to cool. Cut into pieces and remove cores. Puree oranges.
- Preheat oven to 160 degrees (hot air: 140 degrees). Beat eggs and sugar until foamy. Add a pinch of salt, orange puree, almonds, flour and baking powder.
- Lay out a springform pan (26 cm Ø) with baking paper, fill in the dough. Bake in the oven for about 1 hour on the middle shelf. Remove, allow to cool slightly. Release from the mold and allow to cool. Dust with icing sugar as desired and decorate with orange peel and slices of orange.
PREPARATION TIME: approx. 2 1/4 hrs.
PER PIECE: about 260 kcal, 7 g protein, 14 g fat, 26 g carbohydrates
TIP: Did not get organic oranges? Then take untreated, wash hot and rub dry with a cloth. The cake can be baked up to 3 days before. Allow to cool, wrap in aluminum foil and refrigerate.
