Canning Homemade Strawberry Syrup (February 2019).
Strawberry syrup is so varied: serve it with sparkling wine, on a cake, as an ice cream topping, as a pudding or in mineral water. Even many cocktails are the sweet juice perfection. So, let's go!
- 1 kg of strawberries
- 1/2 l of water
- 850 g of sugar
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove overripe spots and the green, and place the fruits in a large saucepan with the water and sugar.
- Heat the mixture and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring continuously. The strawberries disintegrate and become very soft.
- Then sift the syrup and add the lemon juice.
- Immediately put the hot juice in thoroughly cleaned bottles, close them and put them on their sides so that the lid is covered with the hot syrup and remains sterile.
